The name "TossingFrogs.com" and my Twitter username "frogtosser" refer back to something I used to do when I was a kid.
When I was growing up, my parents moved into a new house that backed up to a nice, but older house that had a pond. We later found out after installing a swimming pool, that our neighbor had frogs in that pond. We found out by finding frogs in our swimming pool.
Needless to say, you really don't want to swim in a pool occupied by frogs. So, we quickly came upon a way of sending them back home. We had a one of those nets on a long pole that was ordinarily used to clean the pool. The only way to get the frog out of the pool was to catch them with this net. So, what do you do with a frog after you've fished it out of your pool. Why, you take that frog at the end of that long pole and toss it back to it's home.
At the time, I was 7 or 8 years old when I started doing this, I had no idea if the poor frog would survive the journey. I didn't care. I just wanted that damn thing out of my pool.
